Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

Step 2

In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, orange juice, brown sugar, star anise, vinegar and red chilly powder. Bring it to boil then add corn flour slurry.
Sauce will start to thicken. Add grated ginger and green chilly to make the marinade.

Step 3

Place the chicken wings in a bowl. Pour the marinade over the chicken wings. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to marinate.

Step 4

Remove the chicken wings from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Place the wings on baking tray.

Step 5

Bake the chicken wings in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes.
Remove the wings in between and baste with sauce and place the wings back in oven again, allowing the glaze to caramelize and become sticky.

Step 6

Remove the wings from the oven and let them cool slightly. Garnish with sesame seeds, if desired.

Serve the sticky chicken wings hot as an appetizer or main dish.
