  • 4 chicken legs (drumsticks)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 cup Kashmiri chilli paste
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1.5 tablespoon five spice powder
  • 4-5 tsp garlic
  • 1″ julienne ginger
  • Fresh onion & lemon wedges for garnish (optional)

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

For Marination:
In a large bowl, mix together oil, Kashmiri chilli paste, ketchup, sugar, salt and five spice powder.

Step 2

Marinate the Chicken:
Add the chicken legs to the bowl and coat them thoroughly with the spice mixture. You can let the chicken marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour or overnight.

Step 3

Cook the chicken:
In a pan, add oil with garlic and ginger juliennes. Cook for a minute

Step 4

Add marinated chicken cover and let it cook for 7-8 minutes on each side. Flip the chicken in between and again cover the pan and cook on medium flame for further 8-10 minutes.

Step 5

Check the chicken with fork, adjust seasoning if required.

Step 6

Serve hot with onion and lemon rings on side and Enjoy!
